Project Overview
Honoring heritage through thoughtful reinvention.
The Johnston Residence began as a respectful conversation with the home's mid-century bones. Original clerestory windows and post-and-beam structure were preserved and celebrated, while dated interiors were stripped back to reveal the honest beauty of the original architecture.
New interventions — a reimagined kitchen, spa-inspired primary bath, and a garden-facing reading room — were designed to feel inevitable rather than imposed. A restrained palette of honed marble, unlacquered brass, and linen drapery ties every space into a cohesive, serene whole.
